Train-the-Trainers Activity in Alghero, Italy
In May 2026, partners of the STEM Sports Education project gathered in Alghero, Sardinia (Italy), for a two-day Training Course hosted at the Istituto Tecnico Industriale Angelo Roth.
The event brought together representatives from across the partnership — including Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Inquiry Fuse, ASD Sport Compass, Institut Bitàcola, and GO! Atheneum Etterbeek, to collaboratively develop and refine the project’s training programme toolkit. The first day opened with a welcome session and an introduction to the project’s Pedagogical Framework, the WP3 STEM Toolkit, and the Teacher’s Guide, laying the conceptual groundwork for the sessions that followed. The afternoon was dedicated to reviewing and building on training formats developed by the Spanish and Belgian partners. Day two continued with an in-depth exploration of the training materials contributed by the Cypriot partners (led by Inquiry Fuse), followed by a final session presenting the Italian training format, led by ASD Sport Compass.
The course marked a key milestone in shaping a cross-national, practice-ready training programme that will equip educators with the tools and confidence to integrate STEM learning through sport in their classrooms.
